Newburyport's "Yankee Homecoming" is the oldest homecoming festival in the United States. Started by Newburyport Native George Cashman (First YHC General Chairperson in 1958), has brought years of a week-long celebration to this city. The weeklong event hosts downtown nightly concerts and street performers, a road race, fireworks show, and ends with a parade down Historic High St.

July – September: Pick Your Own Blueberries & Peaches
There many great farms that offer pick-your-own crops in Massachusetts. The year starts with strawberries, then blueberries and raspberries, and peaches in the summer. Into the Fall is the #1 tradition of picking apples, and then pumpkins in October. Don't forget, you can also pick out a fresh Christmas tree to finish out the year!

August 6th: National Night Out
National Night Out is an annual community building campaign that promotes police/community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live. Neighborhoods across the nation host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and other various community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel and exhibits.
